Multicoloured Shades
The Lost Tapes
1984 founded in Recklinghausen / Germany the MULTICOLORED SHADES became leading members of the Neo Psychedelic scene in Europe. The "excessive" use of the organ in the early days was next to the vocals of Pete Barany the main display feature of the band, whose first album, a 6-track EP, was out five months in the German indie charts. After their second album "House of Wax", the band moved to Virgin Records, where the third record "Sundome City Exit" appeared in 1987. This record contained the song "Teen Sex Transfusion", which was released on a 7" and became a veritable hit. The band was now constantly on the road, and Virgin Records brought the SHADES to England in 1986, where their Neo-Psychedelic got a lot of great response. But after the rather limited success of its follow-up LP "Ranchero!" , also published by Virgin, the group broke up in 1990. During a short-lived reunion of the SHADES in early 2002 the compilation "Teen Sex Transfusion" appeared on CD. On 8 April 2002 Pete Barany died from an overdose of psychotropic drugs. Then the MULTICOLOURED SHADES disbanded. The present 4 songs are the last recordings with Pete Barany shortly before his death. Together with Michi Doring (bass), Hans-Werner Maleike (guitar) and drummer P. Podlasky the band presents one more time why they were rightly called "Heroes of the Underground". Shimmering, dark, bone-dry, hypnotic songs and the last time the voice of the charismatic singer Barany. This 10 "appears in a limited edition on red vinyl - another vinyl gem from the house Sireena.
