Lahr, Barbara
Kintsugi
The German singer, composer, guitarist, bassist and producer Barbara Lahr became world-famous as the singer of the band De-Phazz. The Heidelberg people around Pit Baumbacher are the tribe - and governor of lounge and easy listening. The worldwide export hit for well-matured electronic jazz and lounge sound in the here and now. But Lahr programmed the songs using the gray cult sampler from Akai on her desk. The versatile jazz guitarist Bernhard Sperrfechter brought in fine pearly arpeggios and riffs on his clean electric guitar. Barbara Lahr called her EP "Kintsugi", after the name for an old Japanese repair technique: Broken ceramics are cemented with a compound into which the finest powder gold is sprinkled. The splinters and shards, the cracks are not concealed after the repair, but rather Visibly highlighted - the old flaw becomes the new value.
