Kuzniak, Henryk
Seksmisja
For the first time on record, the complete preserved soundtrack from Juliusz Machulski's cult comedy of 1984! Henryk Kuzniak's music for "Seksmisja" is a wild bridge between dynamic rock themes, avant-garde experiments, and retro dixieland. Late Rococo. The booklet includes an extensive essay by Lukasz Maciejewski, stills, and posters. One of the most important films in Juliusz Machulski's career, this brilliant sci-fi comedy about a world dominated by women, featuring daring performances by Jerzy Stuhr and Olgierd ?ukaszewicz, has become a staple of 20th-century Polish cinema. This grand production captivates not only with its action and excellent set design but also with Henryk Kuzniak's unconventional music. To reflect the film's three temporal layers, Kuzniak crafted a soundtrack that includes his beloved nods to dixieland, as well as electronic experiments and strong, almost rock-like themes, enhanced by synthesizers and a broad string section. The material has been remastered from the original tapes from the composer's archive and released in collaboration with the Documentary and Feature Film Studios in Warsaw, the successor to the Kadr Film Studio. The booklet features an essay by Lukasz Maciejewski, stills from the film set, and posters.
