A distinguished member of the European blues elite, Pepe Ahlqvist, is an internationally famed Finnish blues artist. "Doggone Blues?, originally released in 1998, is an acoustic blues album that consists of 15 songs. In addition to stylish covers of blues classics like "Love In Vain", "Im Ready" and "Spoonful" , there are several astonishing originals written by Pepe himself as well as his associate, guitarist Jarkka Rissanen. The now late steel guitar wizard Bob Brozman appears as a special guest on three tracks, and the Dallas-originated Finland-based gospel shouter C. C. de Plicque on two.
