Zach Mathieu
Highs & Lows
Zach Mathieu, with their harsh emotional delivery and intensity, recall the sounds and feel of Thrice, Hot Water Music and a bit of early Jimmy Eat World. Within their Wall of Sound Zach Mathieu has its roots in the American Post - Hardcore / Emocore and Alternative rock of the 1990s, "one of the last "surviving bands" of the genre. Although "Highs & Lows" is this young band's first release, these four gentlemen are no longer freshmen in the recording and performance scene. With their former bands Carrie Anne and Palmcourtbeats, Zach Mathieu have accumulated tons of touring experience including a US West Coast Tour, appearances on MTV. In the last they played three German and Swiss tours with the New York Postpunk combo The Noise and countless local and regional shows. Spending more hours on the of the road throughout the republic than in their hometown rehearsal studio, Zach Mathieu have taken their time and crafted an impressive debut album. Highs & Lows was recorded live in the Pavilion of Schrobenhausen under the direction of Achim Lindermeir (Emil Bulls, Claire, Van Holzen), and mixed and mastered in Halifax, Canada by Darren van Niekerk (The Stanfields / Iron Tulip Audio) and Noah Mintz (Lacquer Channel Mastering).
