Young Pioneers
We March
Richmond, VA based punk outfit the (YOUNG) Pioneers featured Adam Nathanson (Born Against) on guitar and vocals, Neil Burke (Born Against, Men's Recovery Project) and drummer Brooks Headley. Neil's tenure was brief and he left in 1994. Tim Barry joined on bass (went on to become AVAIL's singer). Barry was then replaced by bassist Martin Key/Marty Violence (Universal Order of Armageddon, then Ted Leo & the Pharmacists). Their best songs describe the relationship between struggling individuals and the machinery of oppressive politics. After several tours with bands such as At The Drive In, Avail, Peechees, Karp & The Locust, they disbanded in February 1999.For 6 years the band had releases on Vermiform, then signed to Lookout! Records.
