Wind In Sails
Morning Light
WIND IN SAILS is the solo project of Newport, RIs Evan Pharmakis. After parting ways with VANNA in 2012, Pharmakis began working on his folk-tinged acoustic guitar ballads that are the heart and soul of WIND IN SAILS. The new album, Morning Light, brings to mind PASSENGER, GOOD OLD WAR, and BUTCH WALKER. Morning Light was recorded at Apparition Sound Studios in Thompson, CT with producer Chris Curran. The 11-track album will serve as a follow-up to Brighter Days, an eight-song album released in October 2012 and the more recent Darker Nights EP (October 2013) - a raw, stripped-down release touching on the loss of loved ones and betrayal of friendship, while still holding an underlying message of optimism. He elaborates, "No matter how horrible things can get, with a positive mentality theres nothing we cant push through. Things will always get better with time to heal." For Pharmakis, WIND IN SAILS has always been a means of putting a positive message out there with hopes that people would find comfort in it - and that proves to be true on his forthcoming album as well.
