Khalif Wailin' Walter releases his first album on Timezone Records on 20 September 2024. Phoenix Risin' is packed with rousing blues melodies that invite you to clap, stomp and dance along. The songs take centre stage here. Khalif's songwriting is firmly rooted in the tradition of Chicago electric blues, which can be clearly heard on tracks such as Big Bootyed Woman and the title track Phoenix Risin'. At the same time, the influence of the Texan big band style is evident in tracks such as Connie-Lee, Baby Please Lie To Me and Stone Cold Busted.
