With its motto "The explosive sound from Today's scene", side by side with similar outfits like Daptone, Truth And Soul, Freestyle or Timmion Records, Milan-based independent label Record Kicks has been pitching the so-called "Deep Funk" scene since day one. The new instalment "Record Kicks 15th" coming double clear LP celebrates 15 years of perseverance with a collection filled by exclusive new tracks. The album kicks off with RKs latest and youngest signing: from Chicago, heavily inspired by The Impressions and Leroy Hutson, please welcome "The Devonns" with their super soulful debut single "Come Back". Together with The Devonns, we present another new signing to the label: from Tel Aviv Soul scene here are The Faithful Brothers, the side project of Acid Jazz Records "Men Of North Country" band, with the soulful number "One More Time". Other exclusive tracks of the comp are "This Strange Effect" a coverup of the Hooverphonics single from 1998 brought to you by Dutch northern soul disciples The Tibbs, "Love You Back" a new single from Detroit deep funk outfit Third Coast Kings, "The Sort" by the Buenos Aires mod reggae kings The Crabs Corporation, "Top Dog" by British funk combo The Hook & Slingers and straight from Down Under "You Dont Me" by Dojo Cuts. Along with these new exclusive cuts, dig on other labels classics such as Dj Shadows "This Time" taken from Baby Charles debut LP, James Browns original Funk Diva Martha High and Japanese funk ambassadors Osaka Monaurail with "Dont Throw Your Love In The Garbage Can" from their recent Tribute To My Soul Sisters album, Afrofunk stormer "Psycheground" by Calibro 35 and then Portuguese TNT Dynamite Marta Ren & The Groovelvets, Toronto soul queen Tanika Charles, The New Mastersounds and The Diplomats of Solid Sound.
