Van Dyke, Leroy
Movin' Van Dyke
Among the many claims to fame bestowed on Leroy Van Dyke is that he is a fully qualified auctioneer, a somewhat unique pursuit that proved to be the inspiration for one of his initial hit singles. He is also a more than capable singer, having become a regular on both the country charts and the music halls over the last five decades. This album was his second release on the Mercury label, being issued in July 1962 and giving rise to the major hit single If A Woman Answers (Hang Up The Phone). There is also an updated and re-recorded version of The Auctioneer, still a very in demand part of his live work.
