Bebo Valdes Y Su Gran Orquesta

Bebo Valdes (Quivican, 19 October 1918 - Stockholm, 22 March 2013) was a Cuban jazz pianist, composer and arranger. He was the father of pianist Chucho Valdes. Valds began his career as a pianist in Havana nightclubs in the 1940s. In 1960, he fled Cuba to Mexico with his singer Rolando La Serie. He lived briefly in the United States before starting to tour in Europe, eventually settling in Stockholm, where he remained until 2007. In Sweden, he played an important role in spreading Cuban music and Latin jazz.
