Tylan
One True Thing
After five studio albums and ten years on the road with the internationally acclaimed folk-pop quartet Girlyman, Tylan releases her debut solo CD, One True Thing. This album resides sonically between Americana and Folk with a strong emphasis on emotionally vivid lyrics and harmony-heavy choruses. Influences such as Patty Griffin and Woody Guthrie are immediately apparent. The arrangements are at once raw yet rich, with Tylans strong expressive alto ringing out clearly and painting pictures filled with complex metaphors. Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls stopped by during the recording to lend backing vocals. "Tys expressive alto brings quiet energy to her introspective ballads, nursing a negotiation of life from pain to acceptance, if not peace" - Americana Gazette
