Tusq
Hailuoto
Tusq, the big-screen indie band from Hamburg and Berlin releases their second album. Live, isolated, and extremely focused "Hailuoto" was recorded on the island of the same name in Finland - indie-rock style in delightful detail with crystal clear hymns, in the mindset to what made the 80's really cool. And why Hailuoto? Because people there absolutely wanted to record with them - namely Jn Hendlmeier, analog genius with a great sensibility for live recording. On the debut "Patience Camp" (2010), he was an indispensable fifth band member. "Hailuoto" sounds like four friends who are having the time of their lives. The Soundtrack Of Our Lives and Motorpsycho's were their favorite bands and Tusq built on this to produce their 80s UK indie rock sound. New Order and The Cure clap away, while secretly Dreampop and Shoegaze squint through the gaps in the floorboards. This sounds so timeless and international that it could have come from London, Manchester or even New York.
