Turner, Benny
When She's Gone
"Still active at the age of 78, he embodies a living legacy that spans generations, genres and eras," says David Whiteis of Benny Turner in a review for Living Blues magazine. A sixty-plus year veteran of the music profession, Turner is best known for his role as bassist for his brother Freddie King's band, then for Mighty Joe Young and lastly for Marva Wright. However, his roots and influence in gospel music are also noteworthy. A member of the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame and winner of the Independent Music Awards Best Blues Song, Turner is also a 2018 Blues Music Award Nominee in the Bass Instrumentalist category
