Tubs, The
Happily Ever Jaded
These Ghent boys have released on US labels Gnar Tapes and Burger Records - which makes them better known on the sandy beaches of California than the sandy beaches of Bredene. Their music does touch on the great American singer-songwriters. Neil Young or even The War on Drugs lurk around every corner. Yet, their music is much more than that, with tunes that even their close harmonies and pedal steels cant keep out of the muddy waters of garage rock, and even classic rock. The band is known for bringing together different styles and genres into catchy tunes, even if it also portrays the darker themes of life like suicide, absent fathers, or terror. Testament to their ambiguity is the title of the new album Happily Ever Jaded, celebrating a bunch of merry and friendly arsons that are bound to burn down your speakers.
