Title Trackers, The
Lost Title Tracks
"In the vast, post-2K landscape of Remix Culture, it is exceedingly rare to come across artists doing an original take on anything. The guys in The Title Trackers, however, are a breed apart." These are the words blogger Rick Damigella to describe this band after listening to an advance copy of their debut record "Lost Title Tracks." You may or may not have ever given more than a passing thought to the fact that while some albums have title tracks (Born to Run, Let It Be,) other classic albums do NOT (Exile on Main Street, Who's Next.) Well The Title Trackers (made up of Andy Hill, David Tokaji, and Russell Wiener) DID notice that, and they decided that since the original artists "forgot" to write a title track, they should take up the slack and do it themselves! They brought the sounds of some of the world's most classic albums back to life by asking themselves the question - what might the title tracks to these albums have sounded like if they'd been written and recorded? "checking in to the MORRISON HOTEL," "got our slingshot and our COMBAT ROCK," "the trackers send GREETINGS FROM ASBURY PARK," these are just some of the audaciously-titled songs that the Trackers have penned, satirizing legends like The Doors, The Clash, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, The Stones, U2, and more. Accomplished producers, engineers, writers, lyricist, and satirists, the band used this album to create their personal dream world - in which all their favorite classic artists are alive, well, and co-existing, intermingling, and jamming their asses off to songs the Trackers lovingly dub "the greatest hits NEVER written."
