The bands back story is the stuff of legends, of course Back in the late 80s - when Noel Gallagher was a roadie for The Inspiral Carpets and Damon Albarn was still in a synth-duo - The Studio 68! -fronted by future NME journo Paul Moody- left a trail of stylish chaos across the London gig circuit, their high-octane mix of. Hammond organ grooves and auto-destructive stage act so ahead of its time, MOJO editor Pat Gilbert described one gig as laying the foundation stone for Britpop. Having imploded in spectacular fashion, the bands cult status has grown over the years, thanks to appearances on both the Eddie Piller Presents The Mod Revival and Cherry Reds Millions Like Us compilations.
