Chris Jarrett: Sechs Hlderlin Lieder, English Songs ...
Composer Chris Jarrett wrote his setting of Six Lieder on lyrics by Friedrich Hoelderlin to mark and pay homage to the poet's 250th birthday in 2020. A quintessential Romantic, but also an outsider among his fellow Romantics, Hoelderlin inspired many great composers of the nineteenth century, but his verses do not cease to fascinate today's musicians. Jarrett cooperates here with the British baritone, reciter, and actor Orlando Schenk, for whom these pieces were created. The album is completed by other works and improvisations by Jarrett.
