Saint-prix, Dede
L'integrale
Singer, percussionist and flautist DEdE Saint-Prix has been the high priest of French Caribbean music for five decades. Born on Martinique Island, he popularized the folk music genre chouval bwa and took it to every continent, blending it with other rhythms from Africa, the Caribbean and the island of Reunion. A militant musician and teacher _ he continues to pass on the tradition as well as being a wonderful entertainer _ DEdE Saint-Prix has today become a genuine "living legend." FrEmeaux & AssociEs, together with Anbalari Edysions and Couleurs Music Publishing, have joined forces to publish this 5CD retrospective of the musician's complete works, and this set focuses clearly on one of the greatest representatives of the Caribbean contribution to our musical heritage.
