Riesco, Marcel
All Shades Of Blue
This is the very anticipated album by the amazing Marcel Riesco. A follow up to "A Record Date," this fantastic platter promises pure enjoyment from beginning to end. Presented here in full dynamic range! We all know blue is more than a color - its a way of feeling. There are many shades of blue, and this record will take you through some of them, with Marcel Riesco in fine voice. Here, Marcel delivers a collection of impeccable numbers sung the way only he knows how, in a music style not many dare to touch nowadays. Of course, first thing that comes to mind is The Great Roy Orbison, and rightly so. Marcel has magically internalized his singing Maestro, The Big O, with eerie similarities (listen to "The Actress" or "Borne On The Wind"), but still maintaining his own originality and competence to write fantastic cuts like "All Shades of Blue" or "Indian Love." At times however (more often than not!), this album rocks, and this brings us to the point. Marcels handling of the various other songs in this selection will give you an idea of his versatility. "A Record Date with Marcel Riesco" was a hint of what this cat was about. But "All Shades of Blue" surpasses the former, in the sense that it proves how Riesco believes in what he does. Here, we hope that Marcels vocal gymnastics, with the band in top form and the beautiful sounds they have achieved, will help you dream, drift, and explore all your shades of blue. Enjoy!
