Rev Jones
In The Key Of Z
For more than three decades, Rev Jones has been one of the most unique and sought-after bassists/vocalists in hard rock. And for his legions of fans worldwide, "Bakwash" is his riff-blasting, face-melting, long-awaited solo debut album. Since first picking up a bass guitar in 1985 - and utilizing what BassPlayer.com calls "an array of techniques, both conventional and otherwise" - this native son of Oklahoma's Tornado Alley has recorded and toured with headliners that include Steelheart, Mountain, Michael Schenker Group, Fuel, Leslie West, Paul Gilbert (of Mr. Big), Jeff Martin (of Racer X) and George Lynch, as well as top indie shredders like Blasted To Static, Texas Hippie Coalition, Kottak, Forte and Black Symphony. "Whichever band he may share the stage with," says Sugarbuzz Magazine, "Rev Jones will be the guy on stage who will give the audience an unforgettable visual and musical experience." Known for his distinctive two-handed tapping style and over-the-neck fingering technique - as well as his on- stage madman performance style - Jones has also worked with Grammy winning producers Mike 'Metal' Goldberg (Johnny Winter, Doro Pesch) and Jim Gaines (Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughn), designed a custom bass for Dean Guitars, and produced the popular instructional video Rev Jones Bass Line. When Rev is not recording/performing as a bass player, he tours with George Thorogood & The Destroyers as Thorogood's exclusive guitar tech. "I have the best second job in music," Rev says. "I get paid to hang out with, work with and watch one of the baddest entertainers ever to step on stage." Rev also plays off- stage rhythm guitar on several of the band's songs. Rev Jones has recorded with Steelheart, Michael Schenker Group, Leslie West, Black Symphony, Paul Gilbert, Jeff Martin, George Lynch and Others!
