Quireboys, The
Wardour Street
New album by the legendary Quireboys as CD and colored vinyl edition on Cadiz Music! The Quireboys were formed in London in the mid-80s as a blue rock band and quickly established themselves in the city's vibrant rock 'n' roll scene. Always a great live band, they perfected their style, playing sold-out shows at the legendary Marquee Club and venues across the country long before releasing their first record. When their first album A Bit Of What You Fancy was finally released in 1990, it hit like a bomb. The album reached number 2 in the UK charts and contained many of the songs they had been playing live since forming. The album is still revered as a classic to this day. The second album Bitter, Sweet And Twisted followed in 1993, after which the band took a break that lasted until 2000. The band then played concerts again and released nine more albums (not counting live albums). Now the Quireboys are releasing their eagerly awaited new album Wardour Street, which they dedicate to guitarist Guy Bailey, who died in 2023. The album consists of 11 new songs with the Quireboys' stripped-down rock'n'roll sound, which has been an integral part of their first albums.
