Perc, The
Chapter & Suites- The Electric Kindergarten Vol.10
Tom The Perc" Redecker about Vol. 10: "It's just like that, I like both organically grown suites and songs that are divided into different parts. They simply offer a lot of room for creativity such as chord and tempo changes. They are particularly close to my heart alongside all my music! About the titles: TARAS BULBA was created in the early 1990s as an electronic project, parallel to my work with THE PERC MEETS THE HIDDEN GENTLEMAN. When Volker "Mist" Kahrs (formerly keyboard player with Grobschnitt) joined, we got a record deal with Hyperium and released 2 albums and various singles. "The Moonblood Suite" appeared in 1995 on Taras Bulba's first album "Sketches of Babel" and features the great French singer Lea Saby. Also in 1995 I recorded my first solo album "Worldlooker" for Strange Ways Records. "Sun Sketches" was created together with guitarist Jochen Schoberth and percussionist Dieter Serfas (Amon Dnear Bayreuth. I really like this title, it's a sort of hippie chamber music. "Betancuria" was the musical highlight of the ELECTRIC FAMILY album "Tender", which was released in 1999 on Blue Rose Records and later with a bonus DVD on SIreena Records. The theme was the conquest of Fuerteventura by the Spaniards, the female voices were provided by Evelyn Gramel. "The Dreamboat" comes from the ELECTRIC FAMILY album "Terra Circus", released in 2019 on SIreena Records. It was the Familys first album in 10 years and was also successfully toured. Rolf Kirschbaum, Harry Payuta, Anders Becker and Steff Ulrich were also there. "Rock The Widow" by THE PERC MEETS THE HIDDEN GENTLEMAN is a special case. There was only the single of the same name, which was a veritable little radio hit at the time. For our first album "Two Foozles at The Tea Party" we recorded the song again with Rolf Kirschbaum and added the text "That Glass Indian" as a middle section. Live, this song could easily be 15 minutes long
