Oldtime Stringband, The
Cat's Got The Measles
The Oldtime Stringband is a bluegrass, oldtime, folk and Americana band from the Amsterdam area in the Netherlands. The Oldtime String band was originally formed as a musical backdrop to a documentary about the cow-painter, Ruud Spil. Both the musicians and the audience enjoyed it so much that the band is now on a stampede. The Oldtime Stringband not only plays Bluegrass and Old-Time music but is also inspired by American folk music from the 1940s and modern music with an Old-Time feel. In the winter of 2012 we gathered together in the studio to make a live recording. Fun and hard work resulted in producing twelve songs. Due to the many positive reactions, the band decided to bring the CD "Gotta quit kickin'my dog around", out. In May 2014 The Oldtime Stringband released their second cd "Chicken Crows For Day". Another piece of traditionals, originals and some covers. The cd was well received by radiostations, websites and magazines. Now, 2 years later here is "Cats Got The Measles". 13 songs, some originals, some traditionals and some covers.
