A Walk In The Woods

Nous Alpha is the avant-garde electronic collaboration between artist-composer-producers Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode, Grizzly Bear, Can, Erasure) and Christopher Bono (Bardo, Ghost Against Ghost, NOUS). Nous Alphas second album A Walk in the Woods is a colorful mosaic of organic field recordings done in New Yorks Catskill Mountains, framed by synth-driven instrumentals. The nine tracks feature a blend of melodies and motifs set against a spectral exploration of groove that moves between minimalist and complex polyrhythms. The result is a unique sound world that has moments reminiscent of Tangerine Dream, Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, Four Tet, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith and Floating Points.
