New Duncan Imperials
Sticky
Double CD of fine pop and scruffy tunes from Americas trashiest diverse band. n the Spring of 1989, The New Duncan Imperials sequestered themselves in Chicago's Uberstudio and built a monument to the music they love-loud, pretty, and just plain weird rock and roll. And they called it STICKY. This double cd features 30 brand new songs with the first disc being a bit louder and the second a bit weirder. The first disc is where you'll find stomping guitar riffs and blazing pop songs. But its not just one big blur. "Wish You Were There's homicidal hoe-down and "Small Craft Advisory" -about roadside souvenir shops- help slow things down a bit. CD 2 possesses a crop of power pop gems, including "That Jerk", "Dumb It Down", "Stuck In Reverse", and "Thumbsucker". It is also home to "Just Another Song About Helmet" (the band, not the headgear)and the truly perverse anthem, "To All Our Friends In Other Bands" We could go on and on, but the only real way to experience "STICKY" is to pop both discs into your player. Begin with song one and end with song thirty. First disconnect the phone and put the dog out. And take off your shoes. And your pants. And get ready to get "STICKY"
