Nest, The
Music For Driver
Comprising of Christoph Closer (Bohren & der Club of Gore / saxophone), Tycho Schottelius (Desmond Denker / synthesizer), Thomas Mahmoud (Tannhauser Sterben & das Tod / field beats, effects & vocals) & Gerald Mandl (Tannhauser Sterben & das Tod / bass, effects & moodswinger), The Nest have created their own blend of electronic sounds, jazz and noise across various improvisational sessions recorded live in Cologne in 2011. Their debut recording, Music for Drivers, is a 62 minute long entity which is driven by the contrast between the organic and the mechanical, between the organized and the shredded. The mostly minimalistic sounds of The Nest manage to keep a fragile balance between an eerie atmosphere and a very subtle and peculiar humor.
