The Shape of Noon is the first album by Swiss drummer Michel Maurer. The seven compositions blend written material with diverse improvisational strategies to create a peaceful and meditative music, sometimes delicate, even fragile, contrasted with strong, groove driven, tensed and chaotic moments. Michel Maurer has performed with his quartet Meridian since 2018 and has developed a recognizable sound through a unique musical relationships with various key sidemen.
