Teriya
Teriya ("friendship" in Bambara) is the first album by French-Malian trio MaSaBa, composed in all simplicity, in the living room of an apartment in Bamako, among noises from the creaking fan, roaring mopeds and vendors shouting in the street. The album Teriya, tinged with Manding, jazz, Latin or even reggae influences, is a true invitation to travel, an ode to cultural diversity. The mesmerizing sound of the kora, emblematic instrument of West Africa, mingles with the deep vibrations of the bass and the multilingual singing, sometimes powerful and catchy, sometimes soft and moving, to offer an explosive and original cocktail of world music.
