Lidell, Paul
Andelain
Sunderland based singer-songwriter Paul Liddell has a unique take on the one-man band, using live loops, guitar percussion, harmonies and effects. A diverse and challenging writer with a unique voice, his live performances range from whispering intensity to a white knuckle, edge of your seat, ear splittingly glorious racket. 'Andelain' has a definite prog-folk feel about it - tracks blend seamlessly into one another with snatches of conversation, crashing waves, street sounds and even a toybox rendition of Ravel's 'Bolero' - and contains Paul's three recent singles as well as five previously unreleased tracks. This is a modern and ambitious indie-pop/post-folk album, with proud proggy tendencies and very catchy tunes.
