LEHNA is on a journey. On her first record entitled "Valparaiso Bay", the singer-songwriter accompanied herself on the guitar and the violin. This time, surrounded by a group of talented musicians, she has created a richly collaborative album with sumptuous arrangements. Strings, brass and vocal harmonies follow her in a fairy-tale parade to the ends of distant lands. They take us on the "line O", an iconic bus line of the Chilean harbour city Valparaiso - a line which gradually merges with the horizon. Musical colors interplay like reflections from the waves and allow melancholy to filter through the impetuous, powerful ocean. In her writing, just like in her singing, Lehna goes to the essential: the emotion, the breath, the hand tightly held. Whether she is singing in English, Spanish, French or Romanian, she speaks to us intimately, shyly and vibrantly. Her subjects - a loved one, solitude, memory, wandering - all demand absolute sincerity. The contrast between the stripped down folk writing and the richness of the arrangements creates breathing space in the compositions which allows the album to flow effortlessly. LEHNA brings us with her on the most beautiful of bus lines: one where the passengers converse intensely and marvel together at the beauty of the world.
