Kitty Kat Fan Club was started by Mike Park in his hometown of San Jose, Ca.. The idea was simply to put together a band of local friends whom could get together a few times a month, write songs and have fun hanging out. The realization for Park was that he had not been in a band with members from the same town since his days in Skankin'Pickle (1989-1996). This aspect of being in a band that would be able to hang together outside of music was sorely missed and thus Kitty Kat Fan Club was born. The band plays a simple indie/twee sound influenced by bands like Cub, Belle and Sebastian, The Pastels, Alvvays, and feature dual lead vocals/harmonies by Brianda Goyos and Catherine Jones.
