I've Done It All In My Time
Early rock n roll, classic country, and gospel influences combine seamlessly in this reissue of twenty recordings drawn from the sixty-plus-year performing and recording career of southeast Missourian Joe Keene. Local performances by rockabilly artists Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins in the late 1950s inspired Keenes early music and career. Echoes of Lewiss vocal and piano style appear regularly in the rock n roll and country songs on Ive Done It All in My Time. Keene began recording for independent Memphis studios and their associated labels, in the early 1960s including High, Fernwood, Meteor, and Sonic. Many of the songs on the project were recorded in Keenes Kennett studio which he opened in 1968.
