Lily Henley is an award-winning folk singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known for her synergistic exploration of both Sephardic and American folk traditions. Lily was recognized as a 2019 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellow Finalist in Music/Sound from The New York Foundation for the Arts, and is an artist-in-residency at the highly acclaimed Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris. She is the recipient of a 2021-2022 Fulbright award, the first recipient to France in the disci pline of World Music. ORAS DEZAORADAS means "Hours Without Hours" in Ladino (Judeo-Spanish). This first collection of new Ladino songs by singer and multi-instrumentalist Lily Henley is informed by the sounds of American string-band music and is inspired by the mysterious and regenerative way in which Sephardi song has continued by the intuitive creation of new melody and lyrics. This collection is an offering to lovers of folk song and balladry, of strings and voices, regardless of where they come from or who they are. Lily Henley is surrounded on this album by two phenomenal musicians, multi-instrumentalist Duncan Wickel and bassist Haggai Cohen-Milo.
