Heller, Bill
Passage
Bill has been the keyboard player in the Rippingtons for over 20 years. Passage is his second release as a solo artist. Bill's first album with the Rippingtons was Topaz, which featured Bill's piano playing on the song Rain. The group was nominated for a Grammy in 2008 for the album Modern Art. Bill was featured playing accordion, (his first instrument), on Paris Groove, and also vocoder on Modern Art. He has traveled the world with the Ripps, as well as with the late Mary Wilson of the Supremes, whom he served as music director. Some of the many artists he has played for are Patti Austin, Smokey Robinson, Nelson Rangell, and The Sax Pack. Bill has also played on the Broadway stage for the Billy Joel musical Movin' Out, and the Earth Wind and Fire inspired Hot Feet. Due to the pandemic travel restrictions, Bill missed the adventure of being able to travel and explore new destinations. So, he made travel and motion the theme of this recording. Pack a bag and enjoy the voyage!
