Grupo Compay Segundo
Vivelo
This new album marks a turning point in their career. At the same time, it is more personal, retaining the knowhow of Compay's music while placing Vivelo at the heart of contemporary Cuban music. The osmosis between the tradition of the sound and the modernity of today's music works wonderfully and for this reason they will welcome the best of Cuban music, Issac Delgado, Julio Padrn, Alexander Abreu, Sory Prez and Rolando Luna. In terms of covers, this new opus unveils a revisited version of San Luisera, which Compay already sang in the 1940s with Los Compares, and an incredible adaptation in Spanish of "Les Mains d'Or" by the most Cuban of French artists, Bernard Lavilliers. Listening to this album, the clash of generations is a success, and the the arrangements wrap everything up beautifully.
