Groove Tunnel
Liven Up!
Cast your mind back to 1996 - like me you probably thinking of Gareth Southgate walking away from the goal, hands on his hips looking totally dejected. Well, it wasn't all doom and gloom in fact that fateful year as we released that absolute gem of an album. Groove Tunnel hailed from Scotland and were hotly tipped as the NEXT big thing in many areas. One listen to this phenomenal album and you will understand why - a cosmic mixture of Acid Jazz grooves, full-on Hammond organ and a mighty Horn section make this a well wicked disc! Coming on like the funky offspring of 'The James Taylor Quartet', 'Jamiroquai', 'Mother Earth' and adding some Latin flavours into the mix, this is one heady brew that is just right for dancing to or chilling out to. Unfairly, this band were totally ignored outside of their home county and they called it a day - but that doesn't take away from the sheer class of this release...
