Goldblade
Mutiny
Goldblade is punk rock band from Manchester UK. They formed in early 1995 when ex Membranes frontman John Robb put the band together bringing in bodybuilder and ju-jitsu champion Wayne Simmons who he trained with at his flat. The pair of them trained with weights listening to free jazz, old school punk and DC hardcore and formed the core of the band with ex Membranes guitar player and A Witness vocalist Keith Curtis on bass, Rob Haynes on drums and Jay Taylor on guitar. The band signed to Ultimate records and released their first single Soul power to critical acclaim before releasing several more singles and three album, Home Turf and Goldblade Drop the Bomb and Do You believe In the power Of Rock n Roll before Simmons and Taylor left to be replaced by ex Nightingales guitarist Pete G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S and Johny Skullknuckles. The current line up has recorded two albums Rebel Songs and new definitive album Mutiny that combines the bands punk rock swagger, hardcore intensity and anthemic songs with the writing of the situationist International, a surrealistic take on consumerism gone mad and society gone crazy, a celebration of the DIY ethic and punk rock and the generational defining power of music
