The Starday Sessions
The Starday Sessions is a rockin' tribute to the legendary independent record label by *The Starday Story* author and talented musician, Nate Gibson. While the award-winning book was already a form of tribute, Gibson also wanted to pay homage to the music and many of the Starday artists who befriended him and contributed to the book. In total there are fifteen tracks by Gibson featuring some of his (and Goofin's) favorite musicians-- The Barnshakers, Deke Dickerson, Double K, the Hi-Fly Rangers, Wyatt Maxwell, Sean Mencher, Jerry Miller, Lester Peabody, and many more! Included in this All-Star album are tributes to Glenn Barber (whom Gibson was backing at the 2007 Green Bay weekender when I first met him), Rudy "Tutti" Grayzell, Orangie Ray Hubbard, Rose Lee Maphis, Luke Gordon, Ralph Stanley, and many others. There are some well-known Starday hits, some classic rockabilly cuts, as well as a few obscure honky-tonk and bluegrass cuts. Starday rockabilly legend Rudy "Tutti" Grayzell adds liner notes to a beautiful package.
