Gibbs, Otis
Hoosier National
Hoosier National is the ninth album from the impressively bearded Otis Gibbs of Indiana (Hoosier is slang for an inhabitant of the state). Its his first all-electric release, sparked by the rediscovery of an old Les Paul with heavy gauge strings and wired to a 1963 Princeton Tuxedo amp. However, the nuts and bolts remain the same, with a dusty vocal drawl, strong hook-laden melodies and songs that cast an eye across personal and political issues.
