Echo Heights
Your Fortunate As Told By The Stars
The debut album by Medway band THE ECHO HEIGHTS, formed from the ashes of one of the legendary Chatham bands THE DENTISTS. After The Dentists had finally split, after a series of successful and acclaimed albums of pop psychedelia, guitarist and songwriter Mark Matthews initially formed the band with fellow ex-Dentist Robert Collins, later recruiting like-minded friends and The Echo Heights were ready to do battle with the chords of rock. After completing a short six date US tour in 2007, the band returned to record their debut album, 'Your Fortune As Told By The Stars' (including the track "Mayonnaise", during which a battery-less toy keyboard in the studio started up on its own and despite the producer's efforts to erase it, rather spookily continually to re-appear on the master tape.) 'Your Fortune' is a collection of classy pop rock with a psychedelic twist, once described as "Talking Heads meets the Lemonheads and the Chills".
