On their third album, Montreal's four-piece power pop band DEAD MESSENGER releases THE OWL IN DAYLIGHT. Recorded by the band and mixed by Aaron Holmberg (The Tragically Hip, The Constantines). The album brings you the fierceness you would expect, while introducing a radiant bright melancholic pop vibe. Having worked in the past with such producers as Jonathan Cummins (Doughboys, Bionic, USA Out Of Vietnam) and Jace Lasek (Besnard Lakes), these experiences see the band really coming into their own as songwriters, while gathering a slew of guest performers (Timothy Herzog of God Speed You! Black Emperor and more). The album's beautiful artwork is hand silk screened by the band, giving each individual record its own unique sense of collectability. Dead Messenger has gained a reputation for their frenetic live performances and for sharing the stage with a wide variety of acts (Half Moon Run, Danko Jones, The Obgms, Duchess Says and more). The music from their two first albums (Love Is the Only Weapon 2009, Recharger 2013) has charted on Canadian national college radio and has recently been featured in the critically acclaimed "This Life" drama on CBC television.
