The native swedish band The Culture in Memoriam can look back at already two releases and successful tours in their homeland. The 15 members strong collective around singer and songwriter Victor Hakansson plays pompous compositions with a folky background full of enchanting fairytale Pop melodies, which are supported by the fragile voice of the collective guruHakansson. Playful yet as the mates from Golden Kanine, reminiscent at times of Isolation Years, is this clich-free music from a band, that knows how to play this typical Scandinavian music. Nowhere else can childlike naivety, youthful yearnings and themelancholy of adulthood build up such great music.
