Day Of The Gun
Brand new recordings from New Wave Icon Josie Cotton! Collection includes three recent singles - "The Ballad of Elvis Presley" (a duet with Prima Donna frontman Kevin Preston), "Ukrainian Cowboy" and "Cold War Spy." The "Ballad of Elvis" video hit 35K on YouTube, the video for "Ukrainian" did 27K. Title track "Day of the Gun" is a call to arms for women left carrying the weight while men take the credit. "Disco Ball" is classic new wave run through a bongos-driven beatnik groove. "Headlights" is a gorgeous ballad that could have come from the Burt Bacharach songbook (all songs are Josie originals save for Larson Paines "Ballad of Elvis.). "Painting in Blood" is a tribute to film composer Ennio Morricone that rides on Giallo-style energy. This album is a roller coaster ride from an artist who has no desire to be pigeon-holed. Guest artists appearing on the album include Clem Burke, Lee Rocker, Eddie Spaghetti, Paul Roessler (who also produced), Charlie Paxson, Joe Berardi, Cherish Alexander, Marcus Watkins, and Kenny Lyon. Full press campaign, social media rollout, college and internet radio promo, and Billboard campaign in Los Angeles (starting May 1).
