Marco Anzoletti: Golden Nothingness, Complete Unpubliso
Marco Anzoletti was born in Trento on June 4, 1867, into a family deeply entrenched in music and culture. He was an appreciated professor of violin at the Conservatory of Milan. Among his output, pride of place is due to his vocal chamber music works setting to music the poems written by his sister Luisa. Another interesting work recorded here is a Theme and variations on lyrics by Arrigo Boito (a musical genre rarely found in the song repertoire). Strikingly, all pieces recorded here are hitherto unpublished, and are currently in the holdings of the Trento library. This recording therefore presents a world premiere showcasing a treasury of hitherto unpublished works, some of which display lyrics by the greatest Italian poets (such as Dante and Petrarca). This album comprises all soprano songs authored by Anzoletti.
