This disc pays homage to a pair of the accordion's monuments, Gus Viseur and Tony Murena, two "high priests" of the genre called swing musette (and artists whose centenary was celebrated in 2015). Accordionist DanielColin and violinist Mathilde Febrer cross swords here with great verve, boldly duelling their way through titles with fi re and subtlety. Produced by Dominique Cravic (Primitifs du Futur, Claire ElziEre, UkulElE Club de Paris etc.) for Kenichi Takahashi's Japanese label Respect Records, and distributed by FrEmeaux & AssociEs, this is much more than your average squeezebox "tribute album". The Quartet here plays "real Paris blues" circa 1930, and that kind of music is authentic and universal. The album is a postcard in sound from popular Paris, and it belongs to Eternity.
