Beware The Idols
Adolescent Rebellion
In the summer of 2007, singer Rus Martin (EYELID, HOTWIRE, FAKE FIGURES), had the idea of making a concept EP and demoed five songs on an acoustic guitar of early 80s hardcore punkinfluenced songs, a sound that harkens back to the days when he was growing up skating, going to shows, and causing trouble. He had put a cheap distortion effect on the tunes and sent them to bass player and long-time friend, Erik Andrews to get some feedback. Eriks response was, "You need to really record these. I hear what youre going for." Without a drummer, or guitar player they entered the studio with Joe Cardamone at Valley Recording Company and recorded the BEWARE THE IDOLS EP. The day before recording Joe had suggested one of his friends (Bobby Vega - STAB CITY) to play drums on the songs. Rus and Erik both began showing a few friends the new songs and got two more members out of it, Keath Moon on guitar and Lukas Judge on the other guitar.
