Ladies Of The Six Strings: Women's Guitar Music Persper
This recording project includes music by four women composers with rather different characteristics; the recording artist decided to juxtapose their works in order to express the variety of styles and trends they embrace. They are Annette Kruisbrink, Fernande Peyrot, Betty Roe and Beatrice Campodonico. The artist cooperated closely with Kruisbrink and Campodonico for the creation of these pieces. The four artists represent a wide variety of musical styles, mirroring also the diverse background of their chronological, geographical, and cultural provenance. Kruisbrinks Homenaje a Andres Segovia was awarded first prize at a composers competition; Segovia is also the protagonist of Peyrots Theme and Variations, whose score he owned; Roes Short Sonata is a commission of the Zwolle Internationale Gitaarweken (1977), and Campodonicos work sets to music the Russian tale of Vassilissa.
