Ancestral Legacy/veil Of Mist
The Silent Frontier
VEIL OF MIST is a progressive French Dark Metal band led by Amandine Rosselle on vocals. After "Disenchantment", their first album released in May 2016, the group returns with "The Silent Frontier", a split EP made with the Norwegian group Ancestral Legacy. ANCESTRAL LEGACY is a Norwegian cross-genre metal band. Blending their base of dark metal with doom, goth and even black metal, with both clean female and male growls, the result is a varied musical landscape. "The Silent Frontier" is the band's fourth official release, and the most experimental so far. It had been a while since we were talking about doing this EP when we finally realized it. This time it was mixed and mastered by Jarno Hanninen (D-studio, Finland) who had mastered our first album and we feel that it really made us cross a course in terms of sound. Regarding the tracks, we recorded a new title based on a controversial character of the French Revolution and entitled "The Flute and The Blade". We re-recorded "Tomorrow", a song from our first demo, with Michelle Darkness from the German band End of Green as a guest on vocals. We appreciate his work and follow him for years, so we could not be happier with the result. By the way, Jean-Baptiste, our bassist, has always had in the corner of the head the idea of making a cover of the neo-classical band Elend, so we transformed their title "A Staggering Moon" into an authentic piece of Funeral Doom. And finally we co-wrote the Annelid title with Ancestral Legacy, the Norwegian band with whom we released this EP as a split CD. This is an eight minute piece where massive and atmospheric parts rub shoulders with other faster and more aggressive ones: A good overview of the qualities of the two groups. the Norwegian band with which we released this EP as a split CD.
