1 - E.GOLD FEAT. ALEXIS - SEPERATE OUR HEARTS - (EP)
ANGULAR

On July 19th, this one off collision between the mysterious 'E.Gold' and Plus Ultra vocalist Alexis Mary will hit theshelves in the form of a delightful 10" slab of black plastic. A classic dance single, influenced by early house music andcold synth sounds, this release goes some way to documenting a burgeoning new clubland 'scene'. Helmed by clubs such as Defunkt, Reeperbahn, ECC/Offset Circles and Endurance and defined by the sounds of Coldwave, Italo, EBM, and New Beat, East London's streets are thrumming to a new sound and this E.P. is an artefact of our times. Each track is a different feeling, by turns euphoric, downbeat, nervy and dreamy, Separate Our Hearts envelopes you, holding your hand whilst you close your eyes. This release features some impressive remixes too. Chris Flatline is the other half of Alexis Mary's new group Plus Ultra and his reworking is like a hymn to classic synthesizer soundtracks, Jan Hammer's 'Crockett's Theme' fromMiami Vice is one that springs to mind in particular. The Horrors remix recalls the glitchy post-no wave electronicexperimentalism of New York's Crash Course In Science, and the EP is rounded of by Ghosthunter's blissed out post dubstep comedown

TRACKLISTING: 01. Separate Our Hearts (original Mix) 02. Separate Our Hearts (chris Flatline Distance Remix) 03. Separate Our Hearts (tom Furse The Horrors Remix) 04. Separate Our Hearts (ghosthunter Remix)

2 - FRESH TOUCH - THE ETHIOPIAN EP - (EP)
ANGULAR

XL Boss Richard Russell feat. producer Rodaidh McDonald (The XX, King Krule) with their Debut-EP. Fresh Touch is the brainchild of producers Richard Russell and Rodaidh McDonald. Their collaborative project began when the duo travelled to Ethiopia in 2010 as part of a musical and cultural exchange.During their trip they met with local Ethiopian musicians and chose the capital Addis Ababa and the medieval walled city of Harar as the places of inspiration to record their collaborations . In spaces ranging from hotel rooms to buses to airport waiting lounges, the plethora of soundbites that emerged from these meetings of musical minds were sampled and re-worked into brand new pieces of original music and Fresh Touch was born. After minimal additional production and mixing in London and New York studios, the outcome is these fourwonderful tracks which make up the debut 'Fresh Touch' EP.Both Russell and McDonald were responsible for production of the EP while Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeahs fame shares a production role on lead track 'Harar Rhythm'. Prior to this release Richard Russell and Rodaidh McDonald have been involved in numerous other projects as producers in their own right. Most recently Russell produced, and played on Gil Scott-Heron's album 'I'm New Here' andn McDonald is credited with recording and mixing the Mercury prize-winning debut album from The xx, 'xx'. Fusing the traditional sounds of Africa with experimental electronic sounds, loops and samples, the four tracks on The Fresh Touch EP represent the fruits of an enlightening experience and a truly unique sounding record.
